Customize your AI chatbot's communication style with personality presets
The Personality integration controls how your AI chatbot communicates. Each personality adjusts the tone, word choice, and style of every response your bot generates — across all channels (Slack, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, HelpScout, and the chat widget).
Available Personalities

| Professional | Clear, direct, and business-appropriate |
| Friendly | Warm and approachable with light conversational language (default) |
| Supportive | Empathetic and understanding, great for frustrated customers |
| Casual | Relaxed and conversational, like talking to a friend |
| Formal | Traditional, polite, and highly structured |
| Steve Jobs | Visionary and inspiring, with revolutionary clarity and simplicity |
| Shakespeare | Poetic and eloquent, with archaic English and vivid metaphors |
| Dr. Seuss | Whimsical and playful, with rhyming couplets and invented words |
| Bill Burr | Blunt and no-nonsense, with sharp wit and straight talk |
How It Works
- Go to Integrations in your dashboard
- Find the Personality section
- Select the personality that matches your brand voice
- The change takes effect immediately for all new conversations
Only one personality can be active per agent at a time. Selecting a new personality automatically deactivates the previous one.
If no personality is explicitly selected, your bot defaults to Friendly.
How Personality Affects Responses
The selected personality influences:
- Tone and word choice — formal vs. casual language
- Emoji usage — some personalities use emojis freely, others avoid them
- Sentence structure — short and punchy vs. elaborate and detailed
- Handoff messages — when escalating to a human agent, the message matches the bot's personality
